I have discussed with many Templars and others around the Island the occurrences of late in and around Hamley involving the band of rabble known as The Bloody Blades. The have known the leader of this band for a while. I met him shortly after he arrived here. His name is Conrad Gilles. The group, though once a legitimate muscle or adventure for hire operation, has devolved into a wholesale criminal organization. They have wantonly attacked friends of Hamley just outside the west gates, and have even murdered Empyreans. This Conrad, himself, took part in an attack on the Celestial Temple whereupon he murdered Templars in cold blood.

It is my opinion that they should be considered primary targets for all Empyrean troops, and my desire to see them brought to justice. I would strongly urge you to order ANY Empyrean who has sight of any who are known to be Bloody Blades to slay them on the spot. Especially this Conrad person.

I would also request your permission to do so on lands not necessarily controlled by either Hamley or The Empyrean Aurora. This would most likely exclude the Trade and Tackel’s lands, of course.

Esteemed Sir Sollis Lott,

Time and time again your concern and efforts to protect our home bring the light of hope to those around you.

I am well aware of the crimes that these criminals you refer to as "Bloody Blades" have committed, there is no doubt in my mind that the list of their crimes is even longer than either of us can imagine, they must be brought to justice. The recent numerous attacks towards Hamley have left me with no choice, but to increases our defenses to fend off any upcoming attacks, we cannot let them continue. Unfortunately it is why I have not been able to send out further patrols to capture the mercenaries, for now our resources will be spent to protect our own. A great tragedy occurred in Steinkreis when they spilled the blood of her sons and daughters, it is my responsibility to keep this from happening here in Hamley. Fear not, our troops have been informed and they will stand steadfast against any who threaten the lives of innocents.

As I mentioned above there will be no extra patrol groups hunting them down we simply cannot afford that for the time being. Here is where I ask You, Sir Sollis Lott to be our holy sword and smite down these evil men when you find them, bring them to justice. I would like to mention that our old friend, Sister Cassia Aurelia, the now leader of the "Blood guard" has been operating in and around Hamley. My intelligence has informed me that one of their brothers has been captured by "Bloody Blades" working in cohesion with the witch Kallista D'Mora as well as the dragons of the Watch. I have no doubt that Cassia Aurelia will take action against them and I want you to be there, brother Sollis. Meet the "Blood Guard" aid them in bringing justice and at the same time help me keep an eye on them, I have heard that the ways of the "Blood Guard" can be "unconventional", I trust you will report back with more information.

I have more matters to discuss with you, Sir Sollis, but I would prefer to do so in person.

I would like to make you aware of a recent development on the Isle.

An evil elf who once murdered Templars in cold blood at the Celestial Temple has returned to Thain. Her name is Rita and she is a devotee of Beshaba, The Lady of Doom….a vile and evil Goddess. She is a threat to any whose path she crosses, and is a dangerous force for darkness on our Isle.

I simply ask for your permission to deal with her as I see fit should our paths cross on Empyrean Lands, Celestial Lands, or unincorporated lands, and have the Templars aid me in such.

I have received some VERY alarming and quite disturbing news. Two keepers left Hamley today to the west, only to find a sign and some devil-kin creatures outside our lands to the near west. The Iron City has proclaimed that area, AND the mountains north of the Grey Iron Mines, under THEIR control and advised all non-Iron City persons to avoid the area. The two keepers dealt with the issue and left a sign countering the information and making it plain that such a devilish incursion would not be tolerated.

I cannot imagine an existence with Devil Kin patrolling the lands around Hamley and dictating when and where we may be or go. I formally request permission to use Empyrean Patrols along the West road to keep these Devil kin and their monsters out of civilized areas.

There was an attack today. I was standing in the Steinkries market and was attacked by an assassin. A great darkness overcame us… and I was laid into….and it is ONLY because of the actions of THESE brave few...that I survived. Obviously, I have earned the attention of someone special...someone determined...someone cowardly.

The Elf, there, was also targeted. She claims that it was the same assassin. From the poisonwood. *provides a description and an account of Ellisril's experience*

I almost died, Colonel. I am recovering.

I ask, formally, to lead an expedition INTO the poisonwood to determine who it was who did this and, hopefully, to eliminate them. I also respectfully ask for Empyrean assistance.

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to inform you of recent events at the East Gate of Hamley. A fellow warrior, Lily Afien, and I happened upon two nearly dead Empyreans at the bridge. There were two others there… not Empyreans. One was a Githyanki, according to Lily, named “Jack”. And the other was called “Izoth” by the Githyanki. The man was dark skinned and had light hair. They each accused the other of attacking the young Empyreans, and seemed to make light of it.

We approached in order to make an arrest and the two immediately became invisible. We could hear casting of spells, so we, too, made preparations. Lily attacked the Githyanki, but his wards, VERY powerful, took her down. I was forced to fight the two by myself from then on. The battle was long and pitched, and I went down as reinforcements arrived from within the walls and chased the two off.

I would strongly advise that you alert all troops with this information and that we keep our eyes peeled for them in the future. I shall attempt to apprehend them if I find them again. Otherwise… I’ll react accordingly and may the Light help me.

Also of note, I spoke to a noble Paladin of Lathander that MAY have put these two in Blackrock Prison in the City. Lily and I will investigate this possibility and, if it proves true, we will levy formal charges upon them there with Steinkreis’s authorities.

I have spent many nights in solemn consideration of the words in the letter from Master Brennan concerning the Hellshire Orcs. I know a few things about them, myself.

First, this… Kralshaman, as he is known, is in league with monsters and evil beings. Second, it was one of those monsters who once poisoned our well. Third, they are all in league with the goblins of Thain in an effort to usurp man from Thain’s surface and replace us.

Mylady, I humbly beg that we, Empyreans, be allowed to hunt them and slay them, wherever they are found, as we do with other monsters on Thain’s roads. I also ask that NO Hellshire Orc or Clan member be allowed free passage in ANY part of Hamley.

As long as these clan members are free to walk our lands….every soul in Hamley is in danger.

I am afraid I do not have the proper time to answer each of your inquiries to the full extent that you would no doubt appreciate. I will instead offer these words of advice:

You have been twice chosen to serve the Good of this island- first by the celestials, and now we Empyreans. You are trusted to make the right judgements in matters close to these causes.

If there are those who would do harm to the innocent, bring them to justice. If there are those who threaten the Empyrean order, slay them, or imprison them if you think them capable of remorse. You do not need permission to do your duty.

Spend no more time worrying about what makes a good man, Sollis. Be one.
