Randomly decided to check in after years and see talk of Doordie and Amel. Lots of fun memories! Arguably my first long time character, Narwyn, ended up closely aligned with Amel as his protege.
Doordie was one of the best RP's I ever played with. His stories, with his character Amel, were amazing. Rich, deep, complex. I hope Doordie is doing well! You have a really great Uncle!

Prologue
Just as a snake sheds its skin, we must shed our past over and over again. — Buddha
Broken. Exiled. Tainted. She lost control of her vessel. Sin had pierced her heart and wound only festered over time. The path to the fallen became ever more certain. Eteruna, Yu'syu, Draxus, Kellendill, the entirety of the Order she had brought shame to the banner. It was time to start anew.
When a Deva dies away from Mount Celestia, they will always return home. At first, as a radiant archon, a dancing light amongst a cosmos of stars within the Silver Sea. She had made this journey once before.
Who am I? Where am I? What am I?
A golden skinned girl with white wings and auburn eyes appears within the Celestial Temple. Younger, more adolescent that to those that would remember her. Without clothes or possessions, a Deva returned to her Prime Material home. No memory of her life prior to this moment. The tales of her misdeeds came to greet her immediately. An exiled being, feared, and misunderstood. She is an innocent soul. A pure soul... but the doubts began to creep in immediatly.

OOC Clarity for open participation
Chaska's memories have been shattered and scattered across the island. Unless you attended the baseline event, in what form the memories can be found may be unknown to your character. However, this does not mean they are unable to participate. The hunt for these memories is open to everyone to find, regardless of faction, alignment, Race, or affiliation to Chaska. I am opening up the narrative of Chaska's memories to be influenced by everyone who wishes to take part.
I will be giving one singular hint of a memories whereabouts. These hints may come via dreams, a voice on the wind, etc. I will leave the interpretation up to you, the player.
Once a memory is recovered by your character you may choose to do what you wish with it. Give it to Chaska, destroy it, keep it. If it is found please give me an OOC notice that your character has the memory and tell me your characters intent with the memory. You can message me @ jhouser182 on Discord, BarkerCounty182 in game, or PM me via these forums.
If a server restart happens and the item is lost to the void. I will continually relace it until it is physically found.
Any blatant attempts at trolling will be disregarded.
The hunt will begin when I make the corresponding post on this thread. I will make an announcement here if the memory has been found.

Captured!
...
somewhere in a grassy meadow near the Croasroads The deva is confronted by an elven mage of Elisara. She knew her fate, she would not resist. Infuriated by the sheer sight of her angelic form the mage weaved his spell.
The Deva furled her wings and took a knee, accepting her fate. Red energy floated from the elf's hands as her vision faded to white...
* * * * *
It all flooded back to her in an instant.
A floating light among thousands of lights illuminate the waters. Swimming, dancing, flowing freedom... this was the Silver Sea... this was the base of Mount Celestia.
A pair of hands plucks her from her journey among the sea. She is greeted by a masked face, light emanating from its edges. The being speaks softly, gentle in tone.
My Child, Your honor, your courage, your benevolence, your vigilance. You have served the light, putting the need of the hopeless before your own. Do not fret, your name is not forgotten... you died a hero to those who faced certain demise...
Your story does not end, The days are coming where my champions need to answer their call of duty, the mortals of Thain will need your protection. I give to you, Chaska the blessing of Eternal Light. May you always serve the light above all else, protect the mortals from all who threaten to extinguish the Light...
From the sphere of light arms, legs, and wings sprout. Formless features become focused... eyes, nose, a mouth, fingers, toes... the light quickly fades to reveal a golden skinned woman with pure white hair and feathered wings. The light fades from her auburn eyes.
She looks at her hands, her wings. Now becoming aware of her Celestial-self.
Her service to the light was only just beginning.... a Radiant white light quickly comes and fades.
* * * * *
(From the memory obtained by Deayn)
As the light fades, darkness begins to encircle the remaining light. The sounds of battle begin to become audible. Mortals, Deva from factions from various parts of Thain were present; Celestial Knights, Hamley Irregulars, Dwarves of Hammersong, Keepers of Thain, Tel'Varatuarie, some of the finest warriors of Elisara, and even Thay and a Red Dragon Kin came to defend the Temple of Light.
The Temple was the epicenter of Andarus' faith on the island.
This was the Shadow War.
Darkness closes in on the temple from two fronts. Zentarus' forces of shadow and dune golems flood the perimeter. The Zenatuarus faithful joined their ranks.
A large orcish monstrosity, rips through the Celestial ranks as a bone-armed woman and black barked orders from the back. She was the Shadow General, Eliswathe.
The deva joined the ranks at the gate, quickly finding herself overmatched. Surrounded by a wave of shadows, she squared off with a hulking golem. Blackened arms reached at her body, each making every move more and more difficult to make.
Beaten, broken... she continued her fight. Her staff of light projecting beams of radiant light across the sea of darkness. The shadows reached into her, their deathly touch quickly bringing her to a forced submission.
A giant golem fist raises its fist to the sky above the broken Deva.
...Your Eternal Light, Give me the strength to survive, The shadow threatens the sanctity of your Temple, The beacon of your power...
My Lord.... please.
Her prayer seemed to go answer. His blessing unrecieved, his voice, his power vacant. Where was he? The threads that bound her to her deity seemed untethered. Where did he go?
All she could do was take the mountainous fist upon her.... white light fills her mind once again.
* * * * *
Awake!
Darkness filled the room. Cold and dark. The bars of cold iron reminded her of what had previously transpired with the elf. She accepted this fate, but a meeting with the one she reportedly wronged was the one she needed to confront. Queen Yu'syu of Elisara.
Among her possessions she held a note.
Your Grace, I have disgraced you and your city, the Celestial Order, and the reputation of my kin for my actions upon you in your court. During a time of distress, I poured salt on the wound of an affliction you faced. Apologies do not forgive such transgressions. I will make my amends to you, not today, or any day but to the end of my days, should those ever come.
I had allowed emotion to lead me to the Abyss in search of my lost kin... Lord Ashtaga, Commander of the Celestial Army and Eteruna, who you may be familiar with. In their stead, I allowed myself to be deceived by two abyssal lords of deception. My vessel was taken from me, my actions thereafter were not my own doing.
I have no memory of what transpired this day. However, I would offer to begin to make my amends. As it stands, I am a Knight of the Celestial Order, as a knight I would take an Oath to you, my grace. A Life Debt to you, in service to the crown of Elisara, until the end of my days and days thereafter. In addition, I will search and destroy these demons who have brought this blight upon us so they may never bring harm to any being again.

As her time locked away numbers by the day. The memories of her mortal life, her ascension, through wars and trials she endured. A vigilant servant of the light. Dedicated to Andarus' cause, she persevered. She was a valiant soldier.
Her mission, her purpose a bit clearer. Though all of this for what? To be held at the mercy of mortals? It was a Baelnorn, of all manner of creatures. In her mind such a thing should be destroyed but this was now her keeper. She thought of simply it could be to escape this prison.
No! These were the trials she will face as a result of her failure.
How could she of possibly been this careless?
Than the still silence hit her.
An eerie sense crept over her.
Though she knew she was truly alone in this moment. That feeling that she was being watched was ever present.
Regardless of what this Baelnorn or the Queen decides, she will need to face this demon again. This time however, she WILL have the upper hand.

One would not imagine that behind or beneath the white walls of Greenvale, there are also dark and dangerous places for those who betray the hope and good will of the City. Those ones would be sorely mistaken.
Behind steel bars, the Deva was sitting, meek at first, then more and more contemplative as the time spent behind bars did not seem to come to an early end. Something was changing within her, the Baelnorn was sure of it.
One evening the Sorcerer was observing the creature while folding repeteadly a piece of paper, then he inclined his head, as he showed her her written parchment.
- You claim to want a life of servitude to atone for your sins. We shall see, how truly you mean these words-
