Randomly decided to check in after years and see talk of Doordie and Amel. Lots of fun memories! Arguably my first long time character, Narwyn, ended up closely aligned with Amel as his protege.

Doordie was one of the best RP's I ever played with. His stories, with his character Amel, were amazing. Rich, deep, complex. I hope Doordie is doing well! You have a really great Uncle!

As some may, or may not (Latter is the most probable) have noticed - I haven't been as much on Thain as usual since friday.

This is due to compressed awesomeness - In DVD-form!
I was one of the lucky few eruopeans to receive a copy of Mass Effect for PC before the official release date.

I heard the hype when it hit the consoles and didn't think much of it. But then I installed it, and hugged it tightly. This is one of the best games I have ever played. So many elements of different games that come together in this way is a rare thing indeed.

I just wanted to share my excitement over this, as no other games since NWN and KOTOR have captured me like this.

Have anyone else tried it, and what are your thoughts of the game?

I rented it the other week (admittedly on X-box) and I couldn't get into it. Played through a few planets, then took it back after the first vehicle section.

It's odd, because I enjoyed KOTOR and was able to finish Jade Empire, but this didn't grab me. It's even the sort of setting I normally enjoy. The writing and style just seemed drab after playing games like Portal, Psychonauts, and Bioshock.

Most people I've talked to did enjoy it, so I'm probably just an anomaly.

I bought it fot the xbox as soon as I got one, and loved it. While the gameplay was nothing original, the overall story is extremely promising, and they have promised a five year cycle with two more games, so I am eagerly awaiting them.

I'm really enjoying it. My only gripe may be that I'm finding it pretty easy, and I suppose also that I've been so busy this weekend I haven't been able to play it _or_ Thain.

Anyway, with the tech and charm abilities where they should be (hacking/decrypting hard stuff, and maxed charm at 10 for now), I've got about 17 skill points saved up just to make combat a bit tougher.

The difficulty really depends on your PC choice. At least on the Xbox. There are later fights that are really, really tough for a non combat PC.

(depending on your party)

I've also found the difficulty to be a little easier what I had expected. So I upped it, and only use shotguns and pistols now tongue

Pistols and Sniper Rifles here(infiltrator -> Commando)...though I'm waiting for my sniper rifle to be useful.

Thresher Maws are easy in the rover. Maybe if I got out... wink
