Randomly decided to check in after years and see talk of Doordie and Amel. Lots of fun memories! Arguably my first long time character, Narwyn, ended up closely aligned with Amel as his protege.
Doordie was one of the best RP's I ever played with. His stories, with his character Amel, were amazing. Rich, deep, complex. I hope Doordie is doing well! You have a really great Uncle!

I debated a bit posting this, as I'm not really a heavy rl-sharer, but I thought both the old a new of Thain might get a smile out of this.
So according to my forum account I joined Thain nine (!?) years ago. I've never really 'quit' this place, but life's changed a lot over 9 years and with that so has my availability. However, I can honestly say Thain has literally changed my life.
So, 9 years ago, I began roleplaying with some of you folks on my brand new rogue, Mira Dain. I made friends with some people, one of them being the player Barakka_San. I met a lot of these folks in the mystical REAL WORLD at the following Penny Arcade Expo, at it's last year in the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue, Washington. It was awesome, I hung with the devs for NWN2 and we collectively hoped the game would be finished in time and not bomb.
uh. Awkward. Anyway.
Barakka and I remained good friends outside of game, even in times when we didn't play NWN. He is, and will always be, my best foil and muse when it comes to improving my writing. Three years (and many visits) later, we decided to start a relationship, and two years after that (and tons of canadian bureaucracy later) I moved up to Canada to go to school.
And this year Barakka and I got married.
So that's the end of my little story. Thain dramatically changed my life, and that's before counting all the amazing friends I met here, who've put up with me so I guess that makes them pretty cool too. <3 (Except miggen, you're only fabulous. You still need to earn cool.)
Oh and there was a baby goat in attendance at our wedding. Picture for proof.
