So I just got EE and coming back to NwN for the first time in about 6 years. So I'm looking for a place to call home again. I'm use to hardcore rp servers with out much lvling outside of events. I guess I'm looking for a server that is an equal mix if there isn't any events going on I would like to be able to go off and hunt things as well. I'm looking forward to playing on the server and meeting new people. But for right now I'm just reading the forums till I'm off work.
I do have a question though... How is the leveling here? Is it slow or is it something you can do on your own?

You can level at your own pace. If you prefer to do so slowly, putting more time into RP than hack-and-slash, you can do that.
If you wish to slay your way to godlike status in a week, that can be accomplished, too.
There are plenty of areas that I would consider "playgrounds" where you can loot and stab to your heart's content, but which are infinitely suitable as backdrops for your RP, as well.

Leveling on Thain tends to be based on your experience with the server. You can absolutely go off on your own and blast your way to level 20 in a few days if you know exactly what you're doing or have people to help you out. As a newer player, I'd expect it to take a bit longer for you. That said, you go entirely at your own pace here on Thain. You don't have to wait around for a DM to give you a ton of XP, and if you want to take it slow, you're more than welcome to as well!

And this isn't a thing. You can get to 20 in a few days with or without a DM if that's really all someone cares about. Most people do so a lot slower thought.

Well I played for a little while, didn't really see anyone and kept getting killed so thats no fun. Guess you have to be a tank type to really lvl up fast. Im not looking to be level 20 in a few days but a few levels under my belt would be nice is all.

That depends where you went. At level 1 there are several easy quests in the starter town (Webster's Landing) After that, you can move to the Crossroads, and find the Trade and Tackel, which also contains a few easy quests (and is conveniently a meeting place for everyone so if you stick around a bit someone will show up)
You dont really need to be a tank at all - I have had several rather squishy low level characters that did quite well. YOu just need to get used to the lay of the land, and ideally, meet up with others so they can help you with your quests. You will find that most players will go out of their way to give you a hand (in character of course)
If you have any questions, dont hesitate to ask, and hope to see ya in game!
