The combat can be tough in the beginning.
In this same forum, in the Major General section, there is a thread titled "New player? Look here First ! ". In it Falkala gives a great summary of the general "feel'' of Thain. PFWG also gives great advice for getting started. The part about the healing and the fountains is VERY important.
The character I generally play with is Malam Itny. Please feel free to shoot me a tell if I can answer any questions.

I do have a question.. I got EE through steam and i see that the server needs overrides for some classes to work right. I do not know how to put that stuff into steam folders.. Anyone have a clue as what to do ? I dont want to not have something thats needed.. Also is there other files that i would need for the server?

I don't know where the Thain specific files are hosted (I don't play any of the classes that use them), but it should be easy to figure out where they go, once you've found your steam NWN user folder (should be your Documents -> Neverwinter Nights); 'tlk' files will go in the tlk folder, 'hak' files go in the hak folder, and '2da' files go in the override folder.

Welcome Silver! Been here about a week myself, and having a blast. Hope to catch you in game sometime, would be more than happy to assist you in character with any errands you may have. Up to and including some good old monster bashing. Also what the others said about the starter quests is true. I did that myself to help get a feel for the server, and they will quickly lead you into other players for some RP sessions as well.

Thanks everyone is so nice here! Im slowly figuring it all out though Im having a hard time finding the quests in websters landing.. Someone told there were some there though.. Ill keep looking Also maybe there should be a main stickly of a post with all the overrides or tlks needed to make things run smoothly posted so its easy to be found?
