Randomly decided to check in after years and see talk of Doordie and Amel. Lots of fun memories! Arguably my first long time character, Narwyn, ended up closely aligned with Amel as his protege.
Doordie was one of the best RP's I ever played with. His stories, with his character Amel, were amazing. Rich, deep, complex. I hope Doordie is doing well! You have a really great Uncle!

Depends on which scry spell you are using. Either way, you need a mirror or other very reflective surface.
Nope! If the people you're RPing with (or the DM) deems you can use something else, you can! If it's Aunt Velma's lucky panties, then that's the component of the spell.
There is a place on Thain where a character can find a crystal/gem, the description of which actually states that it would be a good component for scrying.

My point is, you don't "need" any component for any spell depending on those you're RPing with. If during a DM event someone went to scry on something, I'd probably require they have said crystal and perhaps purchase some other components. Other times I've seen people do it with just a mirror, which is just as well, as it created great fun for those involved and helped further a plot.

MY point was that the component is available for those who like to RP that sort of stuff.
In fact, a quest to retrieve said somponent would make for some good RP, as well.

Back to what Hekja said about using spells in a way to ruin some elses RP. I intend to use the create food and water spells to provide enough food to help Hamley survive. I am going from the view that Alaythyir can't create even close to enough to feed the whole village so he's just helping to lessen the amount of harm done by the lack of food.
