Randomly decided to check in after years and see talk of Doordie and Amel. Lots of fun memories! Arguably my first long time character, Narwyn, ended up closely aligned with Amel as his protege.
Doordie was one of the best RP's I ever played with. His stories, with his character Amel, were amazing. Rich, deep, complex. I hope Doordie is doing well! You have a really great Uncle!

Spike and Ashan have negotiated with the shark people on many occasions; they helped the King Magic Shark get a Steinkreis magic license. it's how Spike got his mood hat and several awesome dyes.

I too am rather fond of ad********g. Here is what I do:
Step 1) Send an OOC tell and say "let's go ad********g" and decide on a venue Step 2) Employ blatant me*******g to conveniently "bump" into the other person Step 3) Skip the preamble banter and start ru****g there Step 4) Proceed with the ad******e. Enjoy!
Sending tells to meet is metagaming, and metagaming is bad.
Course i'm considered bad, so have at it!
But kidding aside, I doubt any DM is going to roll their eyes if a group conveniently meet up to adventure. Only time I personally dislike it is a dm event, or tbh when you die across the map and your buddys suddenly know where.
The solution? It takes 1 min to do this. Walk to the nearest npc and ask if the buddy you were to meet has arrived recently. Wait a tick for a reply and just have your character respond with "but he should have returned from the (location) an hour ago"
This excuses your going there, and may interest those eavesdropping to join you.

I also find it highly irritating when you are in the middle of a dungeon and someone goes 'oh hey can we wait for the guy who just logged in, even though we are already in the middle of the place?'
...
Beyond that, send a few tells to people and see if they want to do something. Post a forum notice like many do.

I'm actually okay with using tells to save dead people. It's easier and more interesting to RP than respawning, and the death penalty isn't a big deal either way.

yeah, the weird stone thing prevents proper death threats.... it's just sad to be all menacing, only to have the good guy unafraid because he'll be coming back someplace ready to kick your rear...
