Randomly decided to check in after years and see talk of Doordie and Amel. Lots of fun memories! Arguably my first long time character, Narwyn, ended up closely aligned with Amel as his protege.
Doordie was one of the best RP's I ever played with. His stories, with his character Amel, were amazing. Rich, deep, complex. I hope Doordie is doing well! You have a really great Uncle!

I have far too many characters, so any well considered reply would lack brevity. But the item that brings me the most joy are the renamed healing potions used by a certain Blackguard. There is something I find pretty amusing about him using a healing potion and everyone in range reading, "Rodon has used Tears of the Innocent."

*always knew Amracil was evil!!!!*
Aeryth's favorite things would be her rapier Frost which is a renamed bitter needle that she was given back in... 2004, I think. (and now I feel old. Thanks, Lupi!). She was originally using a longsword and a certain Feywood druid told her she was doing it all wrong and needed to using her movement, not her strength, took her to the Lord's tomb, fished out a bitter needle, and voila... she could actually hit a thing or two. She still uses that as her primary weapon today. Even if she found something better, it'd still be a favor- *ahem* excuse me... a favourite thing.
Then there is also her Amulet of the Harpers (she originally had a splash of harper scout). She never wears it now, but it reminds her of her father and a gnomish mentor, and it was the first DM drop she ever received (and, for that matter, the first one I ever received---thanks, Xerah!). And, to be honest, OOC'ly, it reminds me of all of those early times which bring back RL memories and smiles.
And, more recently, there is Sol'edrial's feather, which was given to her by the celestial watcher shortly after Aeryth made it her life quest clear the temple's hill of harpies. (And, if she were not an elf, it probably would have been a whole life quest! Little known fact... all of the pillows and mattresses in the Radiant Tower are stuffed with harpy feathers. Okay... maybe not. But they could be!).

Renneleth has a copper mirror to remind himself of his scars; a lesson hard-earned.
Didn't Iskaria make him break that? ;P
I would say for my characters;
Iskaria values the feathers from her amputated wings. She keeps them around her neck. A reminder of a home that rejected her once she was crippled, and more importantly a reminder not to go back.
Deidra has her spear. It is part trophy part extension of her personal storm.
Eleanor has her deceased younger brothers wooden knight figurine, that he used to play with as a child. He was supposed to be the knight of Steinkreis, not her.

Seth von Hendricks' favourite things: - his warhammer named Thain's Keeper, specifically it is the stone which makes its head and which comes from the very heart of Thain that our smith so favours for it is tied to source of his divine power. - the seal of the Hammersmiths which marks him as a member of the guild. -
Spyder's favourite things: - his twin rapiers which through his training he views as an extension of himself. - a blessing of the Poisontree which he carries everywhere. - his multiple disguises. - the seal of Syann which he wears proudly. - a poisoned yew bow made by Eswyn in the woods long ago it was passed onto Spyder by Daniel
Alts: Cian's favourite thing is the great bow an heirloom to his people which was stolen and for which he still searches. Arcicis' favourite thing is her jade serpent tattoo. Micky de Nostro's favourite thing is the Grimoire de Nostro which he nicked from his family (or shall we say - it nicked him!) and the fey in a jar which serves as his familiar - he won in a game of chance in a back alley pub and offered her freedom but she stays with him who knows why? Malachai Ibn's favourite thing is the flames. All the flames.
