Randomly decided to check in after years and see talk of Doordie and Amel. Lots of fun memories! Arguably my first long time character, Narwyn, ended up closely aligned with Amel as his protege.
Doordie was one of the best RP's I ever played with. His stories, with his character Amel, were amazing. Rich, deep, complex. I hope Doordie is doing well! You have a really great Uncle!

I think it would be nice if we had a place for new players to see what things have been altered from the original NWN. Jay can you sticky this when you have time?
I’ll start with the one I know best.
Shifter weapons are not magical on Thain. They just use the properties of the weapon you are using before you change forms.
Maybe those who know the specifics of other nerfs can add a full description here. I just want to have a list of them here not chat about them. Thanks. [ Edited ][ Edited ]

I hate the term "nerf" really... It implys that something has been altered just for the sake of toning down it's over all effectivness. When I make tweaks, I try to maintain effectivness while preserving balance.
Here's a quick break down of some things just off the top of my head:
Summoning durations: All summons work on a system based on the power of the creature/construct/moldy corpse being brought forth and mesured against a critical atribute. Basicly, the more nasty something is, the less time it will hang around. Crticial Atributes; undead: WIS animals: WIS for rangers/druids CHR for everyone else. Planers: CHR Constructs: INT
Tensor's Transformation: Complete overhaul to make it work like PnP. Does NOT polymorph!! This allows fighter/mages to use their own weapon of choise.
Dark Fire: Only works on non-magical weapons. Clerics can be nasty enough without buffing their +3 weapons into smite enverything that moves type things!
General Weapons Enchantments: When you un-equip a weapon that had been enchanted through a spell, the magic fades away. This can be brural, I know, but it's a carfully thought out mechanic. It helps to prevent duration exploites and encourages you to *think* before casting rather than just cast it de-facto after every rest.
Harm: Again, changed to match PnP 3.5 rules. Does 10 points of negitive energy damage per level up to a max of 150. Cannot kill. Will leave atleast 1 hp on the aflicted target.

Doordie, I'm not sure that this is different from official NWN. Shifter weapon enhancements for the purposes of bypassing DR etc. have always only been based on the form's base weapon, not any magical enhancement on the weapon. +enhancement bonuses on a merging weapon are treated as +(enhancement value) damage only, i.e. a +3enhancement weapon merging onto a +1 minotaur battleaxe gives a +1 weapon with +3damage. If this isn't what you mean, say so.

That's not what he ment. Shifter weapons are based purely on the weapon you had equiped when you shifted forms. It makes NO sence what-so-ever that shifters would "grow" magical weapons when they change forms. Also, so of the weapons that Bioware have to shifters are just over the top when compaired to the rest of Thain's setting.
Another spell that's been changed: Time Stop: For obvious reasons, it's a pain to have it work on the whole damned server! It now works on just a single area and I added some visual effects to those affected by it so you can tell when the duration has expired.

As far as utility goes, the modification on Tenser's Transformation, though it does not look as cool, is far more useful for me. It neither messes up my spell lists, nor prevents me from casting additional spells. I love the variation used here.

Shifters on Thain don't get magical base weapons when they shift. The minotaur doesn't get a +1 battleaxe by default, just a normal battleaxe. If you want it to have any magical benefits, make sure you have a magical weapon already equipped before shifting. This means that if the best weapon you have is a +1 weapon, that'll be the best shifted form weapon you can have as well. If you have no magic weapons, you won't gain any when shifting.

I thought you did. Of course, I created the change myself, so I had first hand knowledge of what the change was. It seemed that there might be some questions and wanted to try to put it into as plain and easy to understand info as I could. I didn't mean to step on your toes, though. Sorry if you felt I did.

Ah...I hadn't noticed this since Belen is carrying one of Morren's +1 weapons and is only 3 shifter, so no +2 drider spear or +3 humanoid weapons to see the difference with. Good to know.
