teh ? No, not a very common for me I think. Just like its and it's or your and you're. That kind of mistakes we let them to you native guys. On the other hand, I hope noone will comment on my grammar... It's a bit confusing at times to play a wizard with strong charisma and crazy intelligence and then confuse remind and remember.

I have to agree with LF, here. OOC chatter when I am DMing makes me cry. A lot. Do you want your DMs sitting in puddles?
As for the spelling/grammar...I try to make as few mistakes as possible, and correct them when I do. I don't really care if anyone else does this, but I find it easier to read, and when you are trying to describe something detailed (the NwN engine can only do so much!), proper grammar helps.

Well... we can't have sobbing DM's... can't see their monitors that way.
But question for the DM's out there... how do you view the party channel for OOC talk? If I need to go afk, I'll usually emote something occupying my PC's attention IG, then send something through the party channel to 'translate' IC into OOC.
But I have heard that the party channel can distract/bother DM's. Any comments on its use/mis-use?

If there's a lot of chatter on the party-line, it is distracting to all the DMs as it goes to them as well as the party. I'll likely ask you to cut the frequency if it becomes bothersome. Same for crafting... it spams the DM channel and if I'm in the middle of an event, I'll send a tell asking you to wait until later to finish your crafting.

Personal Opinion
I have seen both good and bad uses of the party channel. I believe, as it can in fact be used for RP reasons, that anything out-of-character said in Party chat should be tagged OOC. [ (()) // OOC:, etc.] Some in-character things I have seen with party chat: Someone in a party goes forward to the next area, and "calls back" to his party with the scouting report. Emoting for your party, who has not yet reached a location, if something is not as it usually is (blood on the ground, if it's colder/warmer than usual, etc.), though this usually happens more in DM events.
When parties are out and just RPing with each other, I would ask that they use the Talk channel instead of the Party channel, unless it is for IC things, including but not limited to the ones I mentioned above, or a short OOC note for your party, as Vaed mentioned previously.

Same as most, generally - use your common sense. Remember that everything you say in party talk is going through to the DMs. Generally party talk should be fine, but if a DM is running an event you might get asked to stop it, because it spams the DM's talk channel and makes it hard for them to keep up with what's happening where they are.
It can be quite entertaining when people obviously don't realise the DMs can see their party chat though...some people have really managed to make me laugh in the past with what they've come out with on party chat [ Edited 08:26:32 PM 03/07/06 ]

Sorry, but I like to see proper grammer like periods, commas and capital letters, it doesn't even have to be always right, the effort is just nice to see. It looks much better and is a lot easier to read.
