Well, note he said nothing about spelling.
I'm in agreement with all of the staff above on party chat. It can be disruptive if there is a ton of it, but I won't usually say anything unless it is in the way. Like Dogbert, I have seen some very good uses, as well as some really horrible uses of the party chat channel.
Also with Doggy, too much OOC chatter really ruins things for me, and I will move elsewhere if there is an excessive amount of it, no matter what I had planned. It's just distracting.
"//Bob, I know you're busy killing those three hundred skeletons that just killed me, but get over here and raise me!

[Monty Pythonish voice... again]
Yes, well... I think we can all see now the terrible way in which Favoritism runs rampant through the island. Favoritism shows a total disregard for others, does not hesitate to kill, and if rumor can be trusted, once showed his private parts to someones auntie.
Yes... Favoritism is mean, nasty, wicked and ugly. And I think it is high time we do just what has been suggested here... burn him! Burn him! Burn him!
No... wait... maybe, in the interests of science, we should put Favoritism on a scale and see if he weighs more than a duck.
Just a quick note on grammer and conversing with someone.
I had the pleasure not too long ago to RP with Mr. Bonesly. It was going very well until my wireless keyboard decided to lose power.
Never in my life, have I ever seen such terrible spelling and grammer. I kept typing thinking my spelling was fine (went past the chat bar while typing) but when I hit enter it came out like a rabid lizard just ran across my keyboard.
I mention this beacuse I was terribly embaressed (because it kept happening) but yet Mr. Bonesly just went alone semi understanding my gibberish.
I find it hard to RP with someone who cannot spell or use grammer. But everyone has to understand that it happens. Thanks again for that Bonesly. I'll get back to "that" real soon.

Okay... Haven't had time to read all the replies but wow! Umm... Couple basic things I want to clear up because I didn't seem to point them out well enough.
The Tips are things that have worked for me. It doesn't mean they will work for anyone else, doesn't mean that they will get the responses, or guaruntee anything beyond you are following some strangers tips IG.
As for the grammar bit. Please don't take this wrong. It is a personal point which, as stated, really stands out to me because I am a writer. I also stated 'to the best of your ability'. I was tired, I had just worked a 10-hour shift, and I hoped that covered the catch-all category of those who are disabled, or aren't aware/aren't taught proper english. Please don't think I am being a stickler about that.
Anything more will have to wait. Mainly, honestly. I wanted this to be something to show appreciation for the DMs and remind people that they are trying their hardest... not a be-all, end-all of how to... Sorry it came across that way. So here it is... the original intent and purpose of this post.
Thank you to the Staff of Thain
And a small reminder to everyone that they are only human too. Everyone enjoys a pat on the back and this is mine to the hardworking Staff. Cheers again guys.

"The Laws" wrote ... Anonymity and in-game admins
The in-game admin faces a bizarre problem. He is exercising power that the ordinary virtual citizen cannot. And he is looked to in many ways to provide a certain atmosphere and level of civility in the environment. Yet the fact remains that no matter how scrupulously honest he is, no matter how just he shows himself to be, no matter how committed to the welfare of the virtual space he may prove himself, people will hate his guts. They will mistrust him precisely because he has power, and they can never know him. There will be false accusations galore, many insinuations of nefarious motives, and former friends will turn against him. It may be that the old saying about power and absolute power is just too ingrained in the psyche of most people; whatever the reasons, there has never been an online game whose admins could say with a straight face that all their players really trusted them (and by the way, it gets worse once you take money!).

It is not possible to run a scenario or award player actions without other players crying favoritism.
The original post seems to support these a bit. I'm curious, would others players in the Thain community say that they're true or false when it comes to a PW like ours? If so, why?

They are reduced by the facts that most active DMs only became DMs after a very long time as players. As such, the "hate" part is quite reduced. Furthermore, Thain is a small PW, that helps a lot too.
However, we all have in mind a few painful stories proving that even here those laws end up to gain some reality.
